FAQs

Where is Skate Camp located?

The Los Angeles camp will be held at the Hollywood Dance Studio in Hollywood, CA. Long Beach Skate Camp will be held at Pigeon’s Roller Rink at 2nd & PCH.

What will I learn at Skate Camp?

Skills that will be covered in every camp include: several variations of forward & backward skating, transitions, one foot balance skills, stopping, spins, jumps, & ways to stay safe while skating. More advanced skaters will also have the opportunity to learn roller dance skills, time permitting.

Can I use inline skates in class?

Yes, skaters can use inline skates, but please be aware that there are some skills taught in classes that cannot be done with ease on inline skates. For beginners especially, we recommend starting on traditional quad skates. The transition from quad to inline in the future is fairly easy and does not require any special instructions.

Is protective gear required?

We encourage all skaters to use their best judgment in deciding whether or not they should wear protective gear/helmet. While we strongly recommend using wrist guards, it is not a requirement.

What should myself or my child wear/bring?

We recommend wearing comfortable athletic clothes to allow for the skater to move freely. Ball caps are also allowed for shade. Please also bring your skates, any protective gear you choose to wear, a water bottle and sunscreen.

What time should I arrive for class?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled class time in order to allow time to check-in, use the restroom, get a drink and get into our designated groupings.

Are roller skates provided?

No, roller skates are not provided at this time for LA Classes. We do require you to bring your own skates. Roller Skates are provided at our Long Beach classes held at Pigeon’s Roller Rink. Please contact us if you are having trouble getting skates and we will do our best to assist you in the search.

What is the make up policy?

No make up classes are currently offered at this time. For your convenience, classes are purchased a la carte so that you are able to purchase based on your availability.
